Foods that May Relieve Neck Pain Symptoms

Can certain foods help relieve neck pain? We've worked with many neck pain sufferers in the Prior Lake area, and noticed that certain foods may help reduce symptoms. 

Here’s the list:

  • Green Tea is a great source of polyphenols which are known to help reduce free radicals in the body, a common cause of inflammation. This has been used for centuries to to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.
  • Olive Oil is a main ingredient of the Mediterranean diet, and helps reduce the risk of strokes and certain cancers. Olive Oil is comparable to over the counter medications in it's potency for treating inflammatory conditions.
  • Sage Appealing to the taste buds especially in poultry dishes, this inflammation-reducing herb has also been shown in some research to boost memory, and contains flavonoids which help reduce swelling.
  • Ginger has been used for thousands of years to help with a variety of health conditions from heart conditions to stomach aches. This anti-inflammatory add-in is excellent with a variety of foods, even tea.
  • Cherries reduce inflammation by neutralizing the free radicals in the body which are associated with tissue inflammation. Anthocyanins, which give tart cherries their deep red color, have anti-inflammatory properties similar to those in aspirin.
